RECITAL

Every June, CAST Academy puts on an annual recital. The recital is an opportunity for a dancer to perform in front of friends and family in a professional atmosphere (local theatre, costumes, and rehearsed choreography). 

 

ANNUAL RECITAL OVERVIEW DATES: 

• Recital session begins January 1st and focuses on choreography. (Fall session focuses on technique.)

ATTENDANCE:

• Each student is required to attend all weekly classes from now until the week of recital (excluding absences due to serious illness or death in the family). 

COSTUMES:

• Each costume costs $90.00 and usually includes a combination of accessories (number and type of accessory vary).

• Foundational pieces are required for each class (tights, shoes, leotard, etc.), and are the responsibility of the parent/guardian to purchase.  These are not included in the price of the costume. 

• Costume balance is due by December 1st, 2023 and is non-refundable.

RECITAL PACKAGE: 

• All students who choose to perform in the recital are assessed a $75.00 Recital Fee. This fee gives the dancer a professional recital video (access to digital copies) of both shows. 

RECITAL CLASS PHOTOS / INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS

• A professional photo shoot is set up during the month of June at the studio to capture each class in their recital costume. The digital rights to your student's photos are yours.  Pricing is determined by a third-party photographer.  Attendance strongly encouraged (not required) for class photo featuring entire dance class.

RECITAL TICKETS 

• Recital tickets are through an online 3rd party and go on sale at the beginning of February.

• Adults $25;

• Seniors (over 65) $20;

• Students (with ID) $20;

• Juniors (under 12) $15

• Plus, ticket hosting fee of approx. $1.50 per ticket.

 

WEEK OF RECITAL: 

• Mandatory Rehearsals the week of the show.  Rehearsals allow your student to run their routine on stage, in full costume and make-up.  

• Studio Dress Rehearsal (for level I and above) in CAST Studio 3: June 12 and 13th from 4:00-6:00pm (Kinder and Pre-K classes not called, all other age groups are required to attend both days);

• Staging Run Through Rehearsal at the Bob Burton Theatre:  June 14, 4:00-6:00pm All Required to attend.

• 2023 show will take place on a Saturday, with two shows in one day. Shows average 1-1.5 hours. June 15th, 1:00pm & 6:00pm.

CALL TIMES*

All dancers should arrive 45 minutes before each show (12:15pm and 5:15pm)

All dancers ages 6 and under should arrive minimum 30 minutes prior to each show 12:30pm and/or 5:30pm

(A call time (or calltime) is the time the cast and crew of a production needs to be on the set, ready to work.  Not earlier, and not later than your call time.) All rehearsal call times are at the start time of the rehearsal June 14, 15, 16 as listed above.
