So You Think You Can Dance

Every June, CAST Academy puts on an annual recital. The recital is an opportunity for a dancer to perform in front of friends and family in a professional atmosphere (local theatre, costumes, and rehearsed choreography).
ANNUAL RECITAL OVERVIEW DATES:
Recital session begins January 1st and focuses on choreography (Fall session focuses on technique).
Each student is required to attend all weekly classes from now until the week of recital (excluding absences due to serious illness or death in the family).
Each costume costs $75.00 and usually includes a combination of accessories (number and type of accessory vary).
Foundational pieces required for each class (tights, shoes, leotard, etc.), are the parent/guardian responsibility to purchase and is not included in the costume.
Costume balance is due by the 15th of January and are non-refundable.
All students who choose to perform in the recital are assessed a $75.00 Recital Fee in March. This fee gives the dancer professional recital video access to digital copies of all shows, and a cast t-shirt.
RECITAL CLASS PHOTOS / INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS
A professional photo shoot is set up during the month of June at the studio to capture each class in their recital costume. The digital rights to your student's photos are yours. Pricing determined by third-party photographer. Attendance strongly encouraged (not required) for class photo featuring entire dance class.
Recital tickets are through an online 3rd party and go on sale at the beginning of February. Tickets: Adults $20; Seniors (over 65) $15; Students (with ID) $15; Juniors (under 12) $12 Plus, ticket hosting fee approx $1.50 per ticket
WEEK OF RECITAL:
Mandatory Rehearsal is usually the week of the show. Rehearsal allows your student to run their routine on stage, in full costume and make-up. In studio dress rehearsal (for level I and all other higher levels) in CAST studio A: June 15 and 16th 4:00-6:00pm (Kinder and Pre-K classes not called, all other age groups required to attend both days); Also, Staging Run Thru Rehearsal at the Mission Theatre: June 17, 4:00-6:00pm; All Required to attend
2022 show will take place on a Saturday, with two shows in one day. Shows average 1-1.5 hours. June 18, 1:00pm & 6:00pm;

FINAL COSTUME PAYMENT for SPRING RECITAL WILL BE DUE NO LATER THAN JANUARY 15TH 2022 ($75 per class)
PARTICIPATION FEE WILL BE DUE MARCH 1ST 2022 ($75 per student)
Class Picture Day: June 4 (time tbd)

A call time (or calltime) is the time the cast and crew of a production needs to be on the set, ready to work. Not earlier, and not later than your call time. Call time for dancers ages 7 and up will be one hour before each show on June 18 = noon and then 5:00pm. Call time for dancers age 6 and under will be 30 minutes prior to showtime on June 18 = 12:30pm and 5:30pm. All rehearsal call times are at the start time of the rehearsal June 15, 16, 17 = 4:00pm.
